We have been working with the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project, which will be the world’s largest radio telescope, since 2016.
Initially leading the Systems Engineering effort, AEON supported the SKA Signal and Data Transport (SaDT) function, which includes all the vital hardware and software necessary for the transmission of a volume of data between the various elements of the Array - it is the backbone of the telescope.
This amounts to quantities thousands of times larger than that currently handled by the world’s current radio observatories and is real feat of scientific and engineering progress.
The success of this relationship with the SKA project has developed, seeing AEON supporting a variety of new functions; Product Assurance, Health and Safety and further Systems Engineering support.
However, this is not the first time that AEON has partnered with STFC on cutting-edge science and technology projects.
AEON’s founders have also collaborated with STFC in providing design solutions for upgrading the luminosity of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator. The project will increase the detector’s potential for making new discoveries by allowing the observation of rare processes currently inaccessible at the LHC’s current sensitivity level.
Today, AEON continues to work on projects pushing the boundaries of science and engineering. Collaborating with STFC on new and exciting projects, AEON continues to assure the success of complex projects.
